I genuinely know next to nothing about them, I only know they use greek symbols as identities and they are like for people to socialize and bond? We don't have them where I live.

One of my high school friends joined a Jewish fraternity in college. First he paid them dues. Then they humiliated him during a hazing. After that, they made him watch over a chicken for a week. The chicken was shitting up the place and was apparently there during a weekend rager. Afterward he earned the right to be there all night at their mediocre parties. It seemed like he was paying money to have friends.
