SC is not just a forum. It is and always has been a canvas for artists to express themselves. The art created here is not just visual, not just auditory, not just cognitive.... It is all of those, and social, and dynamic. It's acting and drama and design and music and psychology and cinematography all wrapped into one giant conglomerate... All going on in a real time setting with actual people and consequences. It's beautiful.
You could look at every account on this site as an art project. Some are more blatantly artistic than others, but from the moment a user chooses that profile picture they are giving a cover to their portfolio. The way you choose to build your reputation determines the art you will create. You will react as it shifts and change your styles with feedback, or perhaps do the same style as infinitum. It's whatever floats your boat, and the lack of heavy moderation is exactly what allows the art to unfold so uniquely for each user. They all have their free thought and they all can express it in any way they want.
Just look at these examples-
Blanc is an artist in the way she blurs fiction and reality with her portrayals of Blanc as going between a character and herself, and recently with the added complexity of DID in the mix. She may come off as a histrionic spaz but as an artist myself I see what she is doing and the way it is artistic.
Turquie is an artist. She sticks to the same patterns but it is consistent. She has her own way of exhibiting; trolling real and imagined male figures who never actually show up, but her persistence makes you wonder. She blurs the line between trolling and reality and throws you off.
Turncoat is an artist. His posts and comments are almost poetic in his syntax. Sometimes he trolls, but you can't tell.
Sintetika is an artist, because he is me and I am an artist.
I am an artist, but I won't say how.
Matter of fact, even Sugar is an artist. She is very schooled in the art of dissing people.
TPG is an artist in the way he brought spam to the table and Xadem is an artist in the way he continues the tradition.
We all are artists here on SC. Now ask yourself, what kind of art do you make?
