...dude, people are taught the meaning of this song in schools.
Not everyone is. I first heard it from the Kanye song and I connected the blood on the leaves to the strange fruit hanging on my own and was disturbed.

There are weird undertones to it, it's impressed feelings are odd even with my issues in following lyrics.
