It's done intentionally to get the viewers who are listening to feel a bias about him. Maybe you tuned in to watch the President speak, but then halfway through it they are trying to convince you to feel a certain way about him, even cutting him off to do it. Usually our media is a lot more subtle about manipulation; this is just a blatant example. Notice how the other people in the studio went along with it as well

Memes aside, centralized media is a dying format, I think. People accustomed to using the Internet are using that for their news. The Internet is subject to abuse too, I know. It might not even be a better medium, it could be a worse one. I'm amazed at the level of sophistication of it all. Like in that video—to think that someone high up makes a call to change public perception and everyone will literally parrot the words they're told. How deep does it go?

I think people underestimate government levels of power.

Someone who is at those levels does not have an idealized view of democracy. They may, but they may have any agenda that they personally view as most important and they will do what they think must be done to achieve it.

They do not care for democracy or anything of the sort, usually. It is all part of the power play. Democracy only matters as the form of environment they need to navigate in. It shapes their methods, but not their purpose.
They will go to ANY lengths to achieve any advantage to reach their goal. Of course, their goal may be something they believe will benefit the country. But they could also be wrong. At this point it is all about being better then your opponents at achieving your goal. You have to view this as calculating, methodic and cold as possible. People are just cogs and pawns. The people's emotions are tools. Ideals, honor, decency and other unpractical virtues will be in the way of the goal and they are often disregarded.

This is not a conspiracy or anything new, it has been like this since the birth of civilization, but people seem to have forgotten it, ever since liberty and justice for all have been planted in their heads. It is not liberty or justice, it is just roadblocks for the people of power, they need to navigate these too, but not necessarily adhere to them.

Cheery bye!
