There's quality children's programming that plays into a more basic mindset while still being alright for adults and not doing some sort of brain damage by being watched for too long.

There's even older Seasame Street (Muppets in general), Little Bear, Smurfs, Rugrats, maybe even The Electric Company, all kinds of shows that push the creative limits without being complicated. 

It'd probably... just have to be introduced alongside Paw Patrol to see if it overtakes the former interest. Shows where they talk to the audience tend to have stronger impacts on simpler minds, like Blues Clues (it's purgatory though after like three episodes).

What about Thomas the Tank Engine? It's pretty pacifying... but it's not the Band of Five garbage that phones in it's plots and makes mediocrity mill us down.
