Florian Geyer was a noble, diplomat and knight, during the 1500s, there was peasant revolts against nobles and royalty seeking to gain better freedom, and economic security. Florian Geyer betrayed his class, and fought for the peasants.
Sadly, Nazis somehow tie him to their ideology despite the fact that what he did and fought for is more closely tied to far leftist movements, like seen with the French Communards, and later Marxist revolutions. Friedrich Engels heralded him as a communist revolutionary seeking.
Your tributes are always historical.
Is it from your distaste towards the modern times?
I just like history and feel somewhat of a connection through it. I don't hate everything about modern times. Though, I suppose there is issues I have with the current state of things, but I like that we're technologically progressing, I could do a tribute of modern day figures, if I thought hard on it enough. Some of my tributes I do feel a genuine connection to, others I do it because even if I don't condone the behaviorisms or the type of people I posted were, doesn't mean they weren't interesting figures and what they did was oddly fascinating. For example, I think I did a tribute of Roman Von Ungern-Sternberg at one point. The dude's political beliefs and some of his actions such as slaughtering jews, and bolsheviks I don't condone, but he was an interesting figure and his bravery and fearlessness is somewhat admirable.
