Going on a limb here, but for the sake of discussion I'll give an example. Here's a non-restricted variety of real-life races/cultures and what their fantasy type race are. This thread isn't limited to one particular world like LOTR or DnD, TES, although I'll do the latter now since that's what I know best.
Altmer: East-Asians/Japanese.
Dunmer: Middle Eastern
Bosmer: South/Native Americans
Imperial: North Americans
Nord: Obviously Scandinavians
Breton: Western Europeans
Redguard: North Africans
Khajiit: Central Africans
Argonian: Southeast Asians
Orsimer: Central Asians
Of course there's a lot of overlap between various cultures and whatnot but I think this comes closest as it gets.
