UKDrillas has been keeping a multi-billion dollar company at it's knees while bragging and laughing at them quite a bit on their Twitter [archive].
While this does interrupt the game I was playing, I feel like I can't even really fault them for it. You'd think that they'd have better DDOS protection 15 years into the game's release, but instead now thousands of players are unable to get, quite literally, "their fix".
Naturally people are complaining.
When this happened a year ago, someone actually went to prison for it with a $30,000 fine.
It's weird how much of a counter-culture has surfaced for specifically the art of ruining a large group of people's fun. Even "Twitch Plays Pokemon" got hit with the same shit once it was apparently "newsworthy" enough to be in some newspapers.
