It's the other way around actually. It's men rejecting women, and whatever his reason is, he's tired.
It's simply a man putting himself first, and in doing so he becomes what he was meant to be instead of investing every fabric of his being into a relationship that will gut the life out of him.
We're living in a world where men are demonized and the subject of men's rights is considered taboo.
MGTOW is nothing new nor is it a movement, we just gave it a moderate title. It's a lifestyle that increasing with the time.

Men love women, it's just some of us realize it isn't healthy to love them the way we do. More often than not, change is good.
MGTOW is purely reactional and emotion based. It's just a deliberate reaction to past grievances. Taking time off of romance to work on self improvement is normal. There's no real point in labeling and categorising it in the first place. But now that I think of it, maybe black/white thinking like that was exactly the reason why those initial grievances occurred. Guess we've come full circle.
