Do you have to have him in your clutches already to get to the devaluing stage?
I really hope this doesn't become like Gail Chord Schuler's Skype conversations with "The Real Brent Spiner" and "Zack Knight".
idk what that is tc, i am not skyping or emailing him currently just letting him read what i say on sc

yes. but hopefully he can match me. my dream is for someone to be able to match me so that its not a successful devaluation lol
So... if you find yourself into someone, and you're fated to never have them, you'd be hooked to that chase forever?
What is it about being accepted by them that makes them no longer desirable? Why is the rejection the ideal? Is it just about some sense of social ranking? Are you chasing "power" in a sense, and when you have more than they you find them beneath your gaze?

I don't even know where to start for "The Church of Gail"...
Edit:

In this model, someone always has more power than the other, even if it's over a sliver of something.

ofc, I always have the most power. no you know what thats bullshit tc, i believe its possible to have an equal balance
Actually, your model is self-contradicting.
You end up attracted to them from the perception of them having more power than you, but once you see them "humanized" the ideal is ruined so you'd rather move on.
In this model, you actually will be the one without the power, either from feeling alone or from feeling temporarily underfoot on your power-climb.
Until the one with more power accepts you enough for you to get over them, you'll be trapped with an idea, and this idea can just attach itself to new people over and over.
