 There are a lot of similar articles, but basically, persons with NPD tend to be successful in their careers. Now, it may be true that with covert narcs there is a low self esteem but in GRANDIOSE narcissism, that ego is often genuine and it's that subtype that often succeeds in life. Now yes, they are often disagreeable. But as we've seen with Trump, Kanye, and countless other very successful and brilliant people- having unique opinions that you adhere to strongly makes the idiot masses try to label you. If you have NPD, you really don't need any of them anyway. You just need to do what must be done to achieve more. I'd argue that narcs are aggressive overachievers who put up with no bullshit and that's why all the jealous haters whom are often vulnerable narcs themselves target the overt ones for being honest for being awesome unlike their sorry shame filled ass.

 narcs are more ambitious and will strive for status to fit their image of being special in some way. in reality they are the most unhappy. it's all for show

I suppose narcissism is like any other label. No one fits the mold exactly. But its one of those things that you know it when you see it.

 Sometimes focusing too much on the bigger picture can produce a jack of all trades yet master of none. Looking at yourself and your strengths for any motive can make you much more likely to master something.
