Also the the Galaxy 10 series devices has a built in Cryptocurrency wallet. Which is in my opinion a nice touch though apps are just as good.
I don't really know anything about crypto currency tbh but doesn't that seem like a security issue waiting to happen?
If you lose the phone you can format it and it'll erase everything.
When dealing with cryptocurrency what matters is the private key for the wallet. You can write it down or copy and paste it and store it away, or take a picture of it and put it where no one will find it etc. Or print it out on paper, break it into envelopes and store it in multiple safety deposit boxes, or memorize it with a backup somewhere.
Private key is everything. and as long as you have it, you can delete the wallet off the device even if it has 100,000 bitcoin in it. The reason for this is because whatever is on the Blockchain is permanent. That being said cryptocurrencies latest update is what you have, but everything you ever send or recieve is a factual record synonymous with the absolute truth of the events that took place.
For example, the private key for a bitcoin wallet, can be used on any bitcoin wallet and then you'll have access to the funds in the wallet.
Or to be more clear. The Private key is the wallet, and what we call wallets are interfaces that store the private key and we can use it there.
Private keys are a long string of letters and numbers. In the case where people's wallets get hacked, it's from mishandling their private keys. Their computers could have been compromised and the hacker could have found the key on a notepad, or the user made the mistake of emailing his private key from A to B.
Keep private keys off line and everything will be okay. As for cryptocurrency apps, unlocking them requires a pin, so if you lose your device, and if someone is able to get into your device, you have time.
I use devices dedicated to handling cryptocurrency for such reasons. I don't carry any with me in my phone and when I do it's just a little bit.
How good is the security in the Note 10+ ? We'll find out. I intend to use all 10 of my fingerprints on the ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, and if I lose my fingerprints in a freak accident, I still have my backups as far as private keys are concerned.
