It always goes this way, save for when CP was at it's prime. The way the site now is actually closer to the average desired, but like most compromises people hate that it's not entirely as they'd individually desire. That's how despite the uniform dislike towards one person how people have shown a variety of expressions in relation to it, and many others are choosing to just watch in silence instead of stepping forward even now.
People seem to want to bitch about what they hate and then just yell "you handle it" or "ban the blasphemer". They typically don't want to single themselves out, and if they do they don't tend to be the "ideas" type.
