Nah, it's just the worst joke I know, and I remembered it today. It's so bad, people generally cannot tell it's a joke. And if I tell them it's a joke beforehand, they're waiting for me to continue when it's finished. At which point I burst into maniacal laughter. After I explain the punchline, they generally say "yeah, we understood that part, it's not really funny".
