Both shows are filmed here. They are very theatrical compared to the older shows. Looks very "big screen" movie production quality.
Patrick Stewart and William Shatner both trashed Star Trek: Starfleet Academy.
I never particularly seen the show, but it does look like it's made to appeal only to a tiny fraction of the population. Everyone including the captain on that show seemed to have low discipline, plus it isn't realistic for 90% of the crew to be so cringy.
Says here its cancelled after 2 seasons. There's something to do.
