What do you like about the word catastrophe?

I like the related catastrophic.

I had to look up whether underused was a single word.

I did it again: I was telling my mother her lawyer gave me “mealy mush” because he was being evasive so as to be deceitful. The word is actually mealy-mouthed and I had no real idea I used the correct word. It’s amazing to me how this comes to me.

Comeuppance : a deserved rebuke or penalty (“just deserts”)

When I first heard comeuppance was giving someone what they deserve aka getting their “just deserts” when I was a kid, I thought it was just deSSerts like your after dinner dessert.
