First he claims Venezuela stole their oil, then he takes their president into custody and says the US will run it and sell their seized oil assets.

...so I guess they can just do this shit now?

This is the first time a president is saying the hidden things out loud.

US is attacking another country so they can steal their oil, and the president is admitting it.

I'm not sure if I should laugh or cry.

On one hand, he painted a target on them in advance by claiming they stole US assets in the first place (they didn't).

On the other hand, he is now painting targets on multiple other names, out loud.

Dude's trading in our UN Credibility for Oil, in a 1-to-1 fashion. This relatively makes Russia wanting the Ukraine and China wanting Taiwan stand out less, if anything setting both a model and a three-part pattern.
