05:59 Theholyspirit: Vpn does nothing it is completely useless to protect against government it’s basically a glorified pay wall where if they want to see your stuff they need to pay extra to bypass the vpn
06:01 Theholyspirit: Plus they make tons of money off the vpn usage scam

SoftEther.

It's not a VPN service, but an open source VPN protocol where people around the world can set up their own servers, if they so choose. And they do.

It's also free.

Security ? Yes. Though it can be set up to be insecure, so if you use this make sure it's set up properly. This VPN requires the user to be a bit tech savvy.

Privacy ?

SoftEther is encrypted. With that there's no oversight.

Speed ?

That depends on the server.

There are only a couple of cases where I'd use a VPN. If I want to see your Netflix, and When Black Desert first came out, it was released as a f2p/p2w Sandbox title in Korea and Japan and it wasn't coming out to the rest of the world for awhile. Plus the global version would be subscription based, and I wanted to play now. So, I slapped down the SoftEther, select the country, and a list of servers pop up. List the servers by ping, and select the server with the lowest ping and........

.

.

..........I'm having flashbacks

Made some of the finest steeds in the world.

My customers were excited with my horse's offspring. Getting a fast horse on the open market was difficult. You put a T7 up and it'll get snipped. And why ? Cause there's too much to do in this game and this task was kinda dull until it paid off. I got my kicks from horse breeding.

Worked out as a business too.

After we do something insane everyone is going off their separate ways, then someone;s always waiting by the parked horse, calling dibs for a ride with me, and they're always like "Yo, you got a T7 for sale, I want one man but they're never in stock I'll pay full price cause I know it's hard" And I'm like okay next week, I'm trying to get a female to breed with this T6, fingers crossed. 500,000,000G cool ? "Hell yeah !"  We'll do it at around noon EST, when a bunch of the Japanese are asleep. Less bidding. "Yeah no problem !" I think he wanted me to name it Rainbow at birth. Or someone did.

The grind on this game is stupid hard. I think it took about 4 days to level a horse to max level 30. But I was the horse king and had many T6's looking for a solid mate. So I'd pick a route and ride the horse with items auto replenish it and let it run, while I go do something else with the game running in the background.

The VPN protocol from here to Japan was very stable.

Input response ?

That's why for gaming with a VPN we want a low ping. 50ms is good.

I'm on the other side of the planet, and I'm meeting people on an Island on the other side of the globe, and I'm kicking their ass. Language barrier wasn't too much of an issue considering there were English speaking folks over there and we'd patch the game with translations until the game itself just gave us the translations.

On a side note, there was a fear of being banned so once in awhile I'd jump through hoops to toss a bit of money into the game, and the devs obviously knew were were there, but never seemed to care. Then again.... The devs had no real way of knowing where we actually were.

Main character was level 33, and I don't remember what the rest of them were. This one I modeled after myself and the Dothraki King, but mostly myself obviously. I was a multi billionaire and crafted Kazarka blades to +5 which was stupid hard and time consuming.

Still no worries of the boogie man stalking me on a VPN. Besides, you don't need a VPN for the bad guys to get you Dexter, while the internet itself is behind a paywall.

What's with the silly shark outfit ? It has this buff where we'd be able to swim really fast, dive deeper I think, and we'd be able to stay underwater for longer. If for some reason the game crashes while out at sea, we'd log in lost out at sea and might die. In this image I was firing at something chasing us on this tiny ship. Little fear of crashing while out there though, cause the PC is beefy, and the VPN is stable.

For months off and on I was chopping wood and collecting it. I can't remember how much wood I needed but it was a stupid amount. Now someone could've been spying on me, but it probably isn't the bad guys behind the open source encrypted VPN.

The games economics allowed me to purchase wood along the way to meet my quota. Not cheap which is why I broke my back for hours on end. Doing lumber wasn't free as the axes would break, which cost money, and I don't remember if we could make axes with other farmed materials, but I had no time for that so I'd buy them. Then after submitting the whole insane load plus other materials like steel and shit at the shipyard and paying a disgusting fee. I got my ship maybe 7 real days later. Can't remember. It was probably worse, this game is designed to suck your soul.

The guild would gear up and off we go to loot some unseen worlds. Looks like we had some other guests aboard that day. Certainly another guild of English speakers. Cracking jokes and  fishing.  We did encounter sea monsters which were a real threat, Big suckers with whirlpools in the pissing rain. Had to fire the cannons and other arrows what had us at them.  It's a blur.

On that note. Since my guild was all English speaking folks, they were all on VPN's too. SoftEther for that matter. Not like we're committing any crimes or anything, but they weren't afraid of a black van and men in suits showing up at their homes either.

People use VPN's for 1 of 2 reasons. For me it wasn't about the privacy though it's a nice touch. I only ever want access to different regions

Commercial VPNs offer privacy and speed, that being no lag from using it, but if you're going to do dumb shit the VPN provider will rat you out, as they probably should, lest they'll be accountable for aiding a malicious hacker of some sort. IF you're being watched, you'll be more under the radar without even a commercial service.

With that I would say it depends on which VPN one uses. SoftEther is more than sufficient and popular for business usage cause of it's higher degree of privacy based on it's protocols. Chinese probably love it, as they aren't supposed to even know who iShowSpeed is, yet when he went to China the whole country was aware of his presence and he drew very large crowds and make a lot of noise in their media, which goes to show how many Chinese are defiant of their government. In the US you can be more afraid when the DNC has office, but even they have been relaxed about VPN's

Where you are, Dexter. Australia. While they haven't really banned things like Hentai, people who watch that stuff is probably on edge when browsing it. You got 1 sailor looking anime girl on your screen and you're cooked.

Change your mind, lest you'll be guilty of the greatest sin.
