Assassination Culture?

Study of change in attitudes to violence and murder justification.  "How Burning Teslas and Killing Billionaires Became a Meme Aesthetic for Political Violence"

Quote from the short article:  "The survey revealed several troubling trends. Over half of those who self-identified as left of center (56%) reported that if someone murdered Donald Trump, they would be at least somewhat justified."

This is interesting - says there's an emergence of "assassination culture" and acceptance of extreme violence emerging on the far left in the USA. Oh, the irony .....  It draws on the recent murder of a healthcare CEO by a demented justice warrior and the burning of Tesla dealerships.

The DNC did a number on people. And the same people who have been programmed would doubt it.

The establishment couldn't beat Trump so they did everything in their power to defame him, called him a racist and rapist, xenophobe and you name it.

The programmed don't realize how the hatred for Trump was sudden as he announced he was running for President. Before that he was loved by the same media. He's been on The View and they gave Trump hugs and kisses. Rappers rapping about Trump. He was, and still is the American Dream.

Mainstream media was weaponized. People generally don't like to reevaluate their way of thinking. They are very emotional about bullshit they think is real, what what they trust is moral from some other source.

As Trump woke up more Americans to policy behind politics, they got a 4 year dose of Joe Biden and a glimpse of what a Kamala Harris presidency might look like.

.

The programmed people who are the most resentful are the ones who melt down when presented with truth. So they'll applaud violence against the loudest right wing influencers.

Ben Shapiro, Steven Crowder, Charlie Kirk, Tim Pool all reported multiple death threats, maybe from people who just wanted them silent but would make happy selfies to celebrate the death of people they dislike.

Tim Pool still claims to be a liberal even though he joined the MAGA movement and voted Republican for the first time in 2020. They shot at his home, and all he really does is talking about how shit its become to associate oneself with the left.

.

What's interesting, I tend to have a fondness with people who are either conservative, or people with the potential to turn conservative. Even when Tim Pool was on the kool-aid I still watched knowing he'd find common sense. Bill Maher it took him awhile, these days he doesn't have anything good to say about the left and he's a hardcore liberal.

Shoe0nHead, that based girl with the lashes. She always claimed to be a liberal, but I seen her content as good, and was able to enjoy her presentations without any bias. She's not like modern left and never was. I think she just left the left with the death of Kirk, her video for a change was serious and she nearly cried at one point, she now sees the left as evil.

.

Personally. I think if you took the all of the left and put them in their own world, and did the same for the right. The left would turn on itself and it'll fall into extinction. And yes some people on the left are good people, they would be the ones who'd be powerless to end the destruction of their crumbling society.

...but what about those who knew about the dude before he ran for president? Before it became a partisan opinion to have according to some, that was the general opinion from both sides with a ton of confirming footage. Remember, he advertised himself as left-wing until he ran for president, so plenty or right wing hated the guy.

What, does it stop being true once you become president? I've been watching this guy my entire life, it's absurd that he's president. Even if he stuck to his left wing status I'd see him as a clown, while you lick up his bullshit off the ground because he happens to share a party line.

Before that he was loved by the same media. He's been on The View and they gave Trump hugs and kisses. Rappers rapping about Trump. He was, and still is the American Dream.

He was handled ironically and The View is owned by Disney.

Disney, dude.

I bet you had almost no opinions about the guy before he became a political figure via Roger Stone.

I'd think the ones who'd be the most resentful would be the immigrants (both legal and illegal).

Ben Shapiro, Steven Crowder, Charlie Kirk, Tim Pool all reported multiple death threats, maybe from people who just wanted them silent but would make happy selfies to celebrate the death of people they dislike.

The death threats hit both sides, that's less shocking than the shootings themselves.

FFS ShoeOnHead gets death threats, and right wing children continue to be underreported for their school shootings.

Tim Pool still claims to be a liberal even though he joined the MAGA movement and voted Republican for the first time in 2020. They shot at his home, and all he really does is talking about how shit its become to associate oneself with the left.

This is what happens when you compare the human experience to politics.

Joining a group at all's going to be disappointing for everyone on some level.

Bill Maher's not a liberal, don't let him fool you.

He's Libertarian at best and speaks a lot of right wing talking points. I've been saying it for years, and only once he defended Trump after seeing him at The White House during a very symptomatic moment in politics did anyone actually listen to me about it.

Bruh her policies are more left than most leftists, and she's hardcore Bernie.

Her speech is right-coded though, similar to how Contrapoints used to be before the gender swap. It's how people on the left try to convert the right through past 'mistakes', except Shoe was more of an edgelord than a politician when she was younger (also similar to Contrapoints).

Personally. I think if you took the all of the left and put them in their own world, and did the same for the right. The left would turn on itself and it'll fall into extinction. Once children of either society are born, they will instantly complain about the broken system they were born into.

Burning teslas is idiotic, and they should be imprisoned. It doesn't do anything to the root problem.

Luigi is based though.

It hit Tesla stock pretty hard, but yeah not Elon himself.

Dude has Starlink which involves government contracts, his money is outside of the public sector as a matter of big picture.

Luigi is based though.

He's injured without medication.

Elon has over 400,000,000 shares of Tesla stock and is the reason why he's that rich.

Now you ought to know what happens to Elon's net worth whenever TSLA crashes.

He has stock in it, but it falling won't ruin him.

In spite of the hopeful people burning those cars, this money is nothing compared to his connections with Starlink. Dude's going to be juuuust fine.

I take it you're calling arsonists burning other people's property 'hopeful people' as a way to be annoying.

Back to what you said about TSLA stock not affecting Elon while it's the bulk of his wealth. Now you changed it to not ruining him.

He could've lost X.com cause he bought it with borrowed money as the bank knows he's good for it, which he'd have to sell off some stocks during a pullback to pay for X, and if Elon sold over 40 billion worth of TSLA or even a quarter, he'd crash the stock itself along with panic sellers.

Destroying Tesla hurts Elon a lot.

People who are good with destroying what doesn't belong to them are dumb as fuck and will burn in hell. I'm pretty sure some liberals who drove Model 3's got vandalized as well, and some of them probably left the left.

I swear I can't see anything good on that end.

Assassination culture is just part of anti-intellectual and individualistic culture expecting people to snap and "do something," instead of letting people realize that there is nothing we can do and that we can only educate ourselves if we have the resources to do so. In the past, killing someone was more effectual and dramatic, but now we realize how disposable we are. If you got rid of a rich person's jet or the rich person themselves, they would get a new jet or a new rich person, making it pointless. If you got rid of someone's car, it would do nothing compared to how much a jet pollutes. "Crashing out" is just another way to glorify the idea that someone can "do something."

Edit/hasty afterthoughts: Honestly I don't even know why I'm putting this on this website. I tried to make sure that this is as amicable as possible but this site is so extremely neoliberal and conservative it's still probably going to invoke the typical reactionaries who project their own emotions and will just go "lalalala crybaby woke bullshit. blablabla family tradition honor blablablabla let me misinterpret what you're saying and aggressively dismiss it blablalabla let me psychologically diagnose you falsely and meaninglessly with old-school diagnose in a clearly incendiary manner hoping to do harm to your life and identity blablablabla let me make pointless judgements that only prove my own reactionary narcissism." Also all the climate change deniers who deny the mountains of counter arguments by actual science and instead worship an aggressively dismissive "debunk" image they saw on social media. It makes them feel like an investigative genius (who unraveled an epic conspiracy that dared stand against them) when they get to deny what scientists have proven. It's also why they love "investigating" people who disagree with personal attacks by exaggerating or misreading flaws in their character and then ignoring if those flaws aren't there or don't really matter. Like that one guy that resorts to calling me histrionic which even if it was true, it clearly only serves to poison the well and shows the gleeful ignorance and bad faith like a drug.
