But this isnt a solution to marine plastic pollution, it just makes pieces tinier. The post-digestion plastic pieces are too small to be detected in oceanic plastic surveys which means plastic pollution levels may be higher than thought.

I was under the impression that those bacteria got rid of the plastic entirely. Well damn.
