This is where I’ll be talking about products that I got rid of that I actually regret getting rid of. For practical reasons that go beyond aesthetics.
These things are worth talking about for this reason lol.
POOSH Kourtney Kardashian x Aquis Leapord Print Limited Edition Hair Wrap / Protective Hair Drying Towel
It was a really good product before it’s time, and I didn’t know how good it was, until I tried to replace it with all the other ‘cheaper’ or knocked off versions of it. I didn’t know how much value and attention to detail there was in the manufacturing of this product, and the quality of materials, the longevity of its use, as well as the practicality and user friendly perks it had to it, on top of being much easier and more comfortable to use, better size, better fit, better textures, everything every detail- so it feels like it was meant to sit on your head, and it stays tight and sturdy, without pulling or damaging your hair, or scratching on your skin, drying your scalp. But it’s just breathable and absorbent enough, while still being anti-microbial in nature, it is a very ‘clean’ product to use in comparison to other standard materials head wraps are made with, and advanced for this reason. Clean scalp is really important, hygiene, and mindfulness of moisture in fabrics we are going to use maybe a few times before we wash it again- so there is not growth of bacteria, and fungal spores. In humid close to the equator environments like Florida, certain textures and materials just never really *dry* in the air on their own, even in air conditioning. It’s a wet environment, so it’s hard to come by a ‘hair towel’ that is anti-microbial and anti-fungal and dries well and is absorbent giving you a clean and *dry* fresh product to use on your head by the next time you shower. Totally clean.
The exterior look and feel, aesthetics, of the product were over all soaring miles ahead of any standard hair towels I’ve seen, no matter how silky or soft they claim to be. This was truly a different kind of silky fabric on the exterior, and a truly soft but *meant for wet to dry* sort of action on it material, it was unique. And incredibly comfortable. The quality of the silky exterior is unmatched, in comparison to other silk I’ve touched that runs cheaper or silk-like products. This was true luxury, you really wanted it, and to touch it, to have it around. It was nice. And cooling, to have on your head. Yet, staying in place not flopping around, staying sturdy.
Lastly the print was unique, and limited edition. Because it was a celebrity collaboration with the brand, higher price point was def probably a factor, so it resulted in a stellar quality product that the brand clearly worked hard on quality control and attention to detail in every facet to really impress their celebrity endorsement, and make sure the client would be comfortable putting their name on something like this and, work with them or others again in the future. Reputation was going into this.
In my opinion this celebrity helped catapult this entire brand into success, i expected that the quality of product would remain the same in the years to come with the new found hype around the brand. But instead the quality of products actually went downhill, this could be for any number of reasons i won’t get into explaining. But, nonetheless, was an oversight i didn’t foresee this happening and the same quality of product from the celebrity endorsement no longer being available ever- ever- again. Lol, i didn’t realize just how ‘limited’ edition they meant.
I thought the ‘print’ aka the color on the outside was the only thing limited edition about it, and the fact it said the celebrities name x the brand name on its tag, which was cute i guess, if you’re a fan or them. I just thought the colorful silks was the only part that was limited, with other colors to come in the future that were more simple and less fun and patterns, a specific style, with a luxury tilt to it, because its made to fit that celebs ‘brand or style’ as well. It represents them in a way because it’s a collab. So, i thought it was just the ‘aesthetics’ that was limited edition.
But the quality of product would remain the same on and on. This was not the case, and, i really wish i hadn’t decluttered it.
I just wanted to wear different colors at the time, but every now and then i am in the mood for leapord print i suppose.
Not having my hair wrap sucks, you need a good hair wrap, it’s just a practical use item. Especially being in a tropical ass environment, you spend your summers by the pool often times. Or post-gym swim, wrap it up, head to the sauna or a massage and worry about doing the hair later… you know.
