That's actually not a terrible magic lasso/eraser cleanup. Only real flaws in it are the bump on the side of his head, a lack of blending or color balance to make him look like he belongs with that background color to make him look like less of a magazine cutout, and his sleeve could have been mended with some "Clone Tool" use.
