I’m more of a musician than you. I took piano lessons as an adult for two years and played my Roland FP-7 and got very good, stopped because of demands of school. Nevermind the time I played as a child, that doesn’t count because I didn’t take it seriously. I co-wrote lyrics and riffs with a guy when I was 18. He never credited me. He and his music became known. I kinda decided not to pursue the credit, some say karma will work it out.
I was also part of a by-audition singing group in middle school the girl’s ensemble. Participated in practice for the musical I was in but I left the school before the performance.
I don’t feel however that I could bill myself as a musician anymore to meet other vocalists or musicians. Visual artist yes, musician no. But I don’t enjoy visual art or meeting “artists”.
