It just says it’s unclear if he got any charges but it to me it seems he did not.
Furthermore, Is he considered a smuggler when his alibi is that he accepted a package from a relative
It’s funny, if he had gotten away with it I believe it would have been considered smuggling but because he was caught with an excuse you might be right.

It’s funny I remember thinking how ironic it was being asked as a solo traveler as a child “did anyone else pack for me” similar vein of questioning albeit for same reason. You’re right I don’t know what the implication is. Would it be identifying the “victim” as "accessory” to the crime with lesser implication? I would Google why they ask but you can if you want 😁
