Honestly I hate Reddit because they can just downvote your comments without explaining which also hides the comments. I don't care for the fact that downvotes exist on this site but it's less impactful. Youtube getting rid of downvotes was a great thing, tired of this hivemind shit where people downvote without explaining why. Only problem with Youtube is that it allows comments to be turned off which I don't care for. I think people should have to explain their opinions for a healthier discourse.

I personally like it, it puts all the junk and garbage towards the bottom and in big enough Reddits if it's unwarranted you get sympathy upvotes.

Them getting rid of it was to support corporate greed, so I went "fuck that" and:
Because you're a conformist.
It's not conformity to be part of a group, it's conformity to follow it.
Rather than being like "oh hey, this video is doing well, I should upvote it", it's more like "hey this video was fun and entertaining, I ought to throw my piece at it to support the creator". Same is true in reverse for if it sucks, especially when corporations are pushing websites into commercialist demands and then tries to act like nothing's wrong towards a crowd of non-likeminded consumers.
Lol I bet you like that Youtube is against Adblock too.
Downvotes legitimately went away because people hated the videos that Youtube was being paid to show. It's one thing to resist introducing something, it's another to take it away once they've grown comfortable with it. People ought to have a right to say if it sucks or not, streamline format or not, without having to go out of their way to download an extension to do so.
