It's still popular even this far along, it keeps being remade in newer forms. It even has at least two musicals I can think of: The Wiz, aka the black version, and Wicked, the Wicked Witch Prequal.

i'm eating my words on this one, i found a kylie x wizard of oz themed palette in tj max and i liked it a lot actually
and the wicked release theyre doing this year for 2024 i think only ulta's doing it but we'll see, i found out about the whole collection through ulta if u just go on ulto and type in the search bar wicked you'll see the full collection
and despite it being definitely intended more for a younger audience, i think it is cute ngl
I think theres a movie coming out with Ariana grande in it or something
She's in the new Wicked as Glinda, and it looks like they might try to tie in Elphaba's green skin with black culture based on the cast:
