This is not a threat. I am not planning to do this. This is a warning of the unconscious consequences of large companies forcibly subjecting me to this trigger.

It's preferable to real conversation with a cashier. 

Huh, why do you hate them so much? Do you feel the same about navigation voices?

In Aus you occasionally hear "follow the pin pad prompts to complete payment" but usually there's no audio or it's so low it's barely audible over the general store noise

The only thing that's usually loud enough to hear is "thank you for shopping at Coles" and I always say "you're welcome" because it's a nice little robot enabling me to have zero human interaction :))

 And even if they don't try to talk to you, it's still much nicer than the awkward non conversation imo

Is it just the voice that bothers you?  At most, I usually get the voice prompt: "Don't forget to take your receipt."

For a small number of items, I usually prefer self-checkout.  Neither myself nor the cashier are really interested in the forced socializing for the mere minutes the whole transaction would actually require.
