What I find a bit surreal about the situation is how live feeds of the news and Gaza are streaming, along with chat.

...As an aside, it's also been a bit strange seeing Arma 3 videos made of the Russia/Ukraine war.  While it is nothing new to recreate historical combat in video games, it's stranger to see this crop up when these conflicts are relatively fresh.  I wonder how quickly this new one will be gamified (if it hasn't already).  Imagine going back in time to and showing how we've taken their conflict and turned it into a video game (after explaining what a video game is, etc.).

Meanwhile, Dragunov for Tekken 8 is apparently "On Vacation" as their way of avoiding the conflict entirely.

It's weird to see how it's handled or avoided.

When I was a kid and they were last bombing Gaza, I had friends from Israel.

I remember realizing back then how much propaganda there was, and I decided never to join the mandatory military in my own country because it's really impossible to tell if you're fighting for the right side. I remember my friend, and many others, going on about how he wants Palestinians tortured and civilians bombed. When you think about it, it's really fucked up how we're pushing an issue to a point where we're OK with killing a shit-ton of people like it's a game.

Regarding the whole issue, it's very unfortunate, but let's be real. The whole argument from Israeli nationalists (and some Americans and Europeans) that they have the right to Israel because it was their holy land thousands of years is the most ridiculous bullshit that exists. If that's the case, then we should export all Americans back to Europe and then start looking into which barbarian tribes existed there first.

War is really scary to me. The ability of people to act so inhumane in times of war really makes me wonder about the future of our species. We all have such potential to take part in atrocities.. WW3 coming?

This conflict will be played in Fortnite. That's the only game you can Paraglide into a Rave and shoot everyone.

It's hard to parse with reality *now* and whatever grievances and state it was *then*.  There's just such momentum, on many levels.  However, what kind of government or cultural state would we want to have in place of what there is now?  Their obstacles for reconciliation are...irrational, for sure, at the root.  Would we want a group like Hamas to have any sway in this?

What would you suggest stands any chance for the least collateral damage and harm to an otherwise-innocent populace, just trying to live their lives while these people wield their historical grievances and holy disagreements?

How accurate and informative would you rate these videos?  (The second one looks to be a reupload, because I watched an original and may have been taken down since.)
