What do you mean?

Traditionally you needed 13 songs to comprise an album.

Says who? I've never heard of there being a song count tradition like that for albums.

Anyway, the history related to “thirteen” songs to an album is interesting, however I just saw that the Recording Academy says to recognize an album it must have at least five songs and be of thirty minutes in length.

I'm not, I'm asking who established that as the canon.

Even googling it shows different figures, claiming around five to twelve songs with some exceptions from single song albums and the like. I haven't found a place that was like "It's 13, definitely 13", which has me wondering your source.

Not to be mean, but you know how Google or even ChatGPT (or Phind) works?

An album or LP (Long Play) refers to a full length body of work, features between 7-29 tracks and has a running time of roughly 35-60 mins. An EP (Extended Play) refers to a half-length body of work, features between 4-6 tracks and has a running time of roughly 15-22 mins (but can be up to 30 minutes)
Was there any other reason to post a question like that here on the forum?

Arguably, any work of art isn't to be constrained by these categories, unless you're looking more for monetization or other factors...

She's been vocal about it in the Discord too, she is trying to join a music forum on reddit but is completely out of her depths.

She thinks piracy is what's stopping her from having meaningful discussions with them.
