Without modern medicine we'd probably still have 1 in 3 women dying in childbirth, it seems so maladaptive that we have evolved like this
2 weeks ago I had to have an emergency cesarean after being awake for 50hrs and in labour for approx 34hrs. If it wasn't for modern medicine I probably would have died and so would have my son
Brain make crazy brr brr chemicals so you quickly forget the agony and might actually decide to go through the experience again but why not just evolve to make it less fucking painful hmmm
Although tbh I think if considering an uncomplicated labour it might be quite manageable but back labour without epidural and with a huge baby is fucked man.
If we weren't so smart and social surely we would be extinct by now
