How would you get rid of them in a world where you had the power of mod tools?

Hm,  good question. tbh I don't think they are a hundred percent foolproof to get rid of unless we make it so that people have to bypass "are you a bot" test to post until they have a certain number of regular posts first, making the creation of bots more tedious. 

However, if people did seem genuinely bothered by the bots I guess with mod tools it might help to just at least delete the bot comments found in the meantime, and also ban bot accounts, or at the very least disable them from posting/replying for a period of time, as although it wouldn't solve the problem entirely it would be better than nothing. 

I have been retarded and blamed you for the bots in the past, however, I believe that we would first need more moderators to actually solve the problem or at the very least a tweak in the way this forum works as far as who can or can't post in general based upon their post content aka amounts of posts in the past. 

In order to prevent spamming we could also put a limit on how fast new accounts can post and make them wait a certain period of time first. 

However there is the legitimate fear that such an approach COULD drive away potential new members to the website.

Lol the moderation approach would at least eventually maybe force the bots to become more sophisticated and more entertaining eventually adding to the websites content. 

At the very least, if it is a risk to give certain members mod tools, we could utilize flagging potential bot posts to be reviewed and potential removed by modship so that if people are truly bothered, the problem can be solved with some help from members so mods don't have to comb through posts searching for bots constantly, and some help/participation from other members can be used.to alleviate the problem rather than just putting it all on mods.

Ps. I made this post to be humorous rather than berate modship XD
