Decomposition sets in. In this stage a complex cadaveric ecosystem emerges, as the remaining microfauna begin devouring its corpse. A process that can take many years, as SC used to house many such creatures before. But only a few remain to feast on the damaged cells and tissue
The current microbiome inhabiting SC's intestines will continue the process of self-digestion, until they too run out of things to care about and die off themselves.
