I actually kind of like stuff that's low to the ground, it makes the room feel bigger and sitting more quaint. It also means being that much closer to animals, making it easier to pet them and have them on a lap.
I really dig Japan's idea for floor tables: 
Making your feet heavier is oddly soothing and grounding to me but there are downsides to having shoes that are too heavy or heavy in the wrong way lol
Why not wear training weights then? 
Because then you wouldn't be taller.
You would be heavier footed, and therefor soothed and grounded though right?
It'd probably help for training towards having the strength to wear hardmode shoes too.
