Products that have stood the test of time and still remain my top favorites, for years. Of course, could always find something better one day you never know. But so far, these are the best of what I've been exposed to.

So before you try something random, I recommend giving these a try first!

Body

Ahava Mineral Body Lotion

I know, it's very underwhelming simple packaging. The fragrance is light in these so if you prefer something that really packs a punch fragrance wise you may not gravitate toward this. However, this is texturally the most satisfying lotion I have ever used. I feel a sense of deeper hydration and my skin actually appears healthy and moisturized, rather than just lotion sitting ontop of it and feeling goopy. It really sinks in almost immediately, and is the quickest drying down lotion I have ever seen. This is great for people who are really on the go and want to quickly keep their hands moisturized, especially in this day and age of more frequent hand washing. It is the perfect gift for hand cream lovers, people who work in health care, etc. This is the body version but they do have a hand cream version specifically, and they're both fantastic formulation. They smell a bit like the ocean, in a good way. Hence why most of their products are named after water, the sea, etc. I don't know how they pulled it off, but this formulation is truly unique, and I have yet to see anything like it texturally that works as well, and dries down so quickly while still providing a lasting glowing hydration from within. It's simply amazing.

I really didn't anticipate that I would like it, I thought at first the whole "sea" themed thing was a luxury marketing tactic, lotion is lotion right? But like I said, this one is truly different than anything I've tried, and it's been very difficult to beat it's unique but wonderfully tailored formulation. This is what luxury creams should be like, as a standard. It's also very light weight I forgot to mention, which you wouldn't expect it to be as hydrating as it is while not being "thick" at all but its literally anti-goopy anti-sticky which is literally a dream. It just leaves your skin smooth without being sticky and gross. It's most definitely a mood.

I remember men at a kiosk at the mall would stop every woman passing and offer them to try Ahava lotion then pressure them to buy it

The reason I like it is because of how it dries down, and how it sprays on. The specific can that is sprays from is really nice.

so as long as those two factors are included in the DIY, hells yeah.

I know the ordinary and such you can dupe things pretty well.

I just have always wanted spray on lotion for dry skin that is non-comedogenic, as I have dryer skin. But then I want it to dry down matte non-sticky and very quickly. No residue, not a scent that is unpleasant or too much scent. Just clean smelling.

It’s very well thought out product. The spray can is also much nicer than I anticipated, not just any spray.

So overrrall I would say this is almost a luxury product, without being overpriced at Sephora, so I’m actually glad it’s at the price it’s at for what this product is and how well it’s done.

It’s the concept I like. I want everything to come in this kind of spray bottle skin care wise. It’s so much faster and mess free, easy to transport in your bag.

It’s genius. But there are few spray on lotions or skin hydrating products ive tried where I actually liked the formula and it’s benefits actually worked really well, and then the dry down wasn’t weird or smelling strange.

It’s very well done, in comparison to the others out there. So if you’re in the market for this specific type of spray on application for dry skin… it is a god send.

it’s really time consuming to cover your entire body in lotion, but it’s necessary for us dryer folks. My skin felt so smooth and soft and clean afterward, the hydration was really sealed in to last all day, without getting greasy or weird even if I got sweaty or rained on, or went swimming.

It was absolutely amazing. In Florida I guess you get kind of dried out by the sun really quickly here. So to be able to just spray some hydration into your skin and it works immediately and dries down immediately without evaportating away and requiring reapplication, like the smoothness really lasted all day.

Thats quite an accomplishment. Normally my skin absorbs everything and I would need a top up.

But yeah it’s the smoothness and the light clean fragrance as well that gets me too. It just feels amazing and it’s everything I want in a hydrating skin product.

It worked. And then I could go to bed, wearing tight clothes, and my skin wasn’t sticky and gross feeling. It was a true matte dry down, so so quick. Amazing amazing.

You didn’t need layers and layers of it to be good either. Just one light layer over spray spray then done. So quick easy and painless. This is most def a fave!

Lol okay, I’m not sure if you’re supposed to spray this all over your whole body. Because right after I did, and it dried down, I almost was dry heaving I felt like I was on the verge of throwing up. So I got back in the shower and washed it all off.

It could of been totally unrelated but, now I’m not sure if when you spray this over your whole body your skin begins to suffocate or it can reach toxic levels of the chemicals present in the mixture

I will have to ask a dermatologist what is safe to put all over your whole body and like, what amount. Because I think I may of almost poisoned myself.

like maybe it’s not meant to be sprayed all over the whole body but just in one place lol

oops 😬

it could be something totally unrelated, but it just so happen that right after I covered my body in this, I like was bent over in pain in my stomach and I thought for sure I was about to vomit.

And I remembered this time my sister told me about a guy she knew covered his body in sharpie ink and had to go to the hospital due to poisoning, and I was like oh no what if the spray is too much chemicals and suffocating my skin.

So I washed it all off and felt better in about 15-30 minutes.

This is the downside of trying new products without being educated by the seller how to use it, so don’t do that, and also… yeah. It’s annoying but, trying new products is a risky endeavor also because, if you combine the wrong things, it can cause skin reactions or irritations that may be specific to you or a certain percentage of people… etc.

or sometimes a product just really won’t work for you and you will have no idea why. Like one time I decided to try a new vitamin c serum. And though I’ve used vitamin c serums before, and other things with vitamin c in it. For whatever reason, there was something in this particular formula that I was clearly allergic to or was causing a reaction for me,… for no known reason. My skin was just not jiving with one of the ingredients in this particular serum or with the formulation as a whole I don’t know.

So yeah, I put it on and my neck became enflamed and red, and I was scared that I was going to experience anaphylaxis lol (my anxiety catastrophizing) but obviously, something happening to your neck is scary, it’s where you breathe. And I’ve seen horror stories of reactions getting worse over time with swelling and such, it was also on my face.

So I just read online what to do. Took a Benadryl, and patted a cool rag on it and iced the areas for the rest of the evening. And it went down.

But then stupidly, the scientist in me decided to try it again. Because I wasn’t sure if it was just mixing with other skin care I did that day improperly. But no, even using the serum by itself caused a reaction again.

So then in the bin it went. I’ve learned the hard way that, you really need to be very careful when trying new products. I’m not even a person with “sensitive skin” or sensitive to fragrance or anything like that. No weird skin conditions etc.

So.,. It’s really, important that if you don’t want to fiddle Faddle with all the risk of science experimenting on your skin, playing chemistry set. Perhaps consider just getting a regiment prescribed to you by a great derm, so that way you get something safe and right for you, from a doctor who knows what they are doing.

Especially if you have particular skin issues and goals you want to address.

I wasn’t trying to have any outcome in mind I was just playing around with skin carE FOR FUN. The internet kind of makes it seem like it’s this very safe fun thing to do willy nilly and we forget that there is a science to this and it is our bodies, so we do need to be a bit careful about it and you know, keep safety in mind and proceed forward in an educated manner about what you’re doing not just slapping on random things together than could interact horrifically.

That was my skin care disaster, def going to have to follow up with my questions about the spray product and do some research about that and how to safely use products like these that spray on.

I ideally would like something I can put all over my body but I just want to make sure it’s safe.

I really have no idea what happened lol

Like, a body cream? Or the vitamin serum still? I mean there's one thing you use in the morning to get through the day, and another thing to use before going to bed.

I really have no idea what happened lol

 What was it called?
