Scalp

The best thing I've ever used is tea tree oil. It makes your head feel minty fresh, it's very moisturizing and healing to prevent dryness and restoring balance. Some people may not like a minty or cooling sensation, but I personally prefer it. There are other oil options if you'd want something warming rather than cooling. The results really speak for themselves in the natural health of my scalp when I use tea tree oil. I've even used pricey shampoo/conditioner brands, like the Olaplex system. While Olaplex leaves your hair looking gorgeous, fairly low maintenance, and is great for maintaining the health of your hair, it doesn't beat tea tree oil products in the scalp care department.

As far as creating shine goes, that is a separate thing, but I do love products that create shine and smooth silky texture so if you have any recommendations.

Right now I'm inspired by traditional Indian and Chinese skin/hair care methods, and am interested to learn more about the deeply relaxing self-care techniques employed around the world. I find this kind of process of of slow, ritualistic and cleaning self care is amazing to be incorporating into your routines and rituals, to balance out the stress that comes with daily life. It's important for me as an introvert to take several hours to recharge, boil some tea, sit by a body of water and read, do some yoga, and take your time doing a deep scalp/hair care routine, do some aroma therapy and meditation.

That way I feel refreshed and ready to take on tomorrow.
