If you could choose to have more empathy, would you?

and if so, would you be willing to have the faith that it is possible for you, and would you be willing to go through temporary suffering to alleviate your potentially longterm suffering? and if not, why not? this is not a "you should want to" thread (I know from personal experience that it is not the most pleasant journey until more towards the end it starts to become more that way), this is an I am genuinely curious what anyone who chooses to respond's honest answers are

I have empathy in abundance, it's fucking noisy and makes it easier to lose myself in other people.

It's led to a lot of problems.
