Why did Jim leave?
He did not leave. He is just taking a break. Periods of absence are normal for him. He told people it is because they have a child now and he wants a different type of life. Of course his dark side is there, too. So in the long run he will start raping again or fuck his wife up or some detail about his persona will come out and he has to run again, until then the reasons he has given us are not unbelievable.
