Sugar holds people she respects to a different standard, she can admit to their talents and skills in relation to her own if she does not otherwise have a personal stake in the idea, a reason to take it personally. 

I'd also generally put Alena at a higher tier of intelligence than many others here, she requires the least re-explaining when it comes to most things, is fast and sharp, and her attention to detail in her hobbies shows a meticulous studier.

I meanwhile have since said that it's less that I've read everything so much as I admit to when I haven't and don't blame other people for how I haven't done so.
