Forever behind, on the trend, last year's "Glazed Donut Nails" have finally reached my side of the internet. Popularized on tik tok by Haily Beiber (super model, Justin Beiber's wife) glazed donut nails are long nails covered in thick layers of clear gel, with iridescent pastel pigment powder buffed in. For non-gel girlies, the look can be duped by mixing a light iridescent polish with a clear top-coat to make it more transparent.
Its cute, simple, and something that was already in style 25 years ago. I was able to use the non gel method by diluting a pearly white Sally Hansen from the late 90s that my grandma gave me 15 years ago. Very pretty, but it did chip super quickly due to using such a thin coat of polish. Even if behind on the times, shiny is still in.
This spring's Hot hot trend? Chrome apparently. Just in time as Holo Taco just released a spring pastel chromes collection.
I didn't even need to buy from this collection. I still have a Turquoise and lilac chrome from the same polish haul my grandma gave me- also polishes from the late 90s. I'm seeing a theme here.
Today I'm rocking holo taco Sunset Simulation over Duct Tape Grey for a muted magenta-to-peach-to-gold multichrome shift.
What will I do next? Probably a pastel green with iridescent gold shift, but we will see.
