Ask anyone with any chronic condition that influences their life to resemble something close to a living hell for them. I believe the real concerns behind people who would ask this question such as Turncoat, hopefully more than just wanting to continue on being addicted to their self admitted masochism, are concerns for if this method being used to alleviate the Illness is genuinely more efficient beyond the Immediate results as in, do the effects of the healing last longterm and even permanently, and are there any unforseen side effects?
great question- but let us pause to consider the current mental health treatments- the psychiatric medicines do not cure and only slightly numb or distract from symptoms of the mental illnesses, as well as as soon as you come off of the medications all of the symptoms come back- this has been my experience and many other people's as well. this aside, the side effects list of these medications is long and horrific at best, fatal at worst. Should this really be the go-to for chronic mental illness conditions? I argue that no, no it should not. should we turn to world religions? I argue that to be honest most of the world religions have a confusing and disempowering influence on peoples' beliefs. Should we turn to long drawn out complex rituals and ceremonies with like 100 different objects and plant medicines and baths when a simple prayer and some affirmations is all that is really needed? I also argue not. this being said, I am in the process of testing the new most efficient and quickest methods of alleviating chronic Illness- with a heart for those suffering from chronic Illness as I have been through it myself- in this age of "ain't nobody got time for that". :p
