what to look out for when aging?

Hear quite a bit about becoming more stubborn and close-minded as you age. I try hard to keep my inner child alive as I don't expect me to actively remember all my different dispositions as I grow older. It helps to not take things as seriously.

More and more I notice though that age is not a guarantee for maturity. In my life I've seen children going to work in suits and adults that just wear sneakers.

So how do I make sure I don't turn into a grumpy, cynical old man? Mindfullness?

It's a physical development too, you'd need to stop aging entirely.

The mind becomes less adaptable, and the best we can do is train it to not atrophy as far.

It will never be the same again.

Look out for the grim reaper. I saw it once already, 3 days before my Father's death.

As you age you'll know more deceased people. Not too many, but more than before.

The kinks aches and pains get worse, and it seems like that's the only thing that separates the present self from the younger self physically.

You'll never sound old. The voice doesn't seem to age.

While some people lose their minds, it doesn't happen to everyone. If we abuse drugs or alcohol, it can result in damage to our vital organs or the brain.

If you're a practitioner of sodomy, you could end up in a diaper, while other seniors drink prune juice to help them drop some fresh ones.

By the late 30's you'll find it difficult to do heavy hours, and when you do heavy hours, it feels deadly, and it can be.

You already notice It's difficult to make new friends, it's even more difficult as we age.

Most of this stuff you already knew. I do think I'm over the hill while it looks as though going uphill was less worrisome.

Why are you concerned with aging? It's a natural part of life, fighting it can surely only rob you of the enjoyment of it. Stay healthy, of course, but not because aging is a bad thing, it's just a thing. Staying active in body and mind is good advise so you have a better quality of life regardless of age, but I don't think you should see it as a combative measure

It's not aging itself, so much as the various (unhelpful) patterns that people fall into over being squeezed through teh funnel of life

I look forward to aging and prefer to set myself up for success. Keeping in touch with my inner child is a source of strength since I think it's a crucial element in becoming whole which is the best way to age.

Other than sleeping 20 minutes a night, having the body of a 1700's longshoreman and occasionally being plagued by the utter silence of the universe - its pretty much the same.

I do like that everyone takes you weirdly seriously though, even when you've got no idea wtf you're talking about. You can be confidently wrong and people just nod like yeah, he probably knows.
