I am not a shaman I am just a person on a healing journey

but I am studying shamanism along the way to see if some of their healing techniques will be helpful for some of what I am struggling with and I also relate to the "wounded healer" archetype

It is difficult because shamanism is still persecuted this day and age and I am scared to fully experiment with it becausee  I already have soo much anxiety and depression that adding on fear of persecution seems problematic right now since I need to be feeling safe within myself to help manage the anxiety  yeah I am in quite the conundrum right now because traditional western therapy and psychiatric medicine do not work on me very well

I have personally found faith language and shamanism to be helpful for people over giving them a codex of ideas to work with that make more sense to them than other forms.

I've found it useful to learn the language, cross-reference it with other materials, and then try to get one message across by speaking it through the filter of who I am speaking to. For example, I could say "Karma", "Threefold Law", "Push/Pull", or "Existential Causality" to different people while meaning similar things.

A lot of different lifepaths are similar, split simply by terminology and foundation. I'd ideally aim to bridge the gaps between them to show how different people really aren't in spite of surface level distinctions.

What has you presume Shamanism would do a better job though?

yes I agree and I see that all the time of different beliefs systems using different terms to describe the same stuff

and I presume shamanism would do a better job because it is the opposite of the belief systems that failed me,  as well as being the original religion and form of spirituality from which all other religions and forms of spirituality came from  (presumably but I do not know for sure if this is accurate but it seems pretty accurate)

How is it the opposite, over being more relatively unstructured?

What differences do you see between Shamanism and Witchcraft? The two in the modern day look pretty similar to me beyond Foundation. They both fall into Symbology themes and similar ideas of Mental Repatterning through Rituals. Both also carry ideas over how what you surround yourself with, what you think about, being "who you are" with the room to change with some basic Mentalism.

but I am scared of practicing a shamanistic worldview because of fear of persecution  like I do not want to be seen as crazy or ridiculed or seen as like a grown adult playing pretend  people are so quick to judge without realizing how much pain and torment that I have had to go through to turn towards the ancient methods of healing instead of just dismissing them as stupid and uneducated

for me it is the opposite because I did not used to respect and honor the earth or people and while I liked animals I saw nature as being brutal and unsafe and pretty much disgusting,  and I was suicidal and did not want to have to be a human being or live on the earth anymore

and I have been working on changing all of these beliefs that I used to have into the opposite in hopes that I can find peace that way,  because I do not truly want to kill myself and death has been evading me

I can get behind this, Worldly Value is important to appreciate and quite humbling. It is at the core of Existentialism too.

There is so much to this world worth appreciating, like a Garden of Delights rather than just fruit.

How has it been for you so far? You at least seem more comfortable, less scream-y.

Shaman in general get that rap, it's why a lot stick with "their own kind". Some go by other labels too if they get all weird about Nephilim and junk, the labels tend to be the obstacle between groups, even when comparing two different Flat Earthers for example.

I have personally found more value in splashing between multiple groups in the hopes of finding something coherent in between them all. I have been surprised multiple times to find legitimacy in quote unquote "magic" practices through my denaturing goal.

people are so quick to judge without realizing how much pain and torment that I have had to go through to turn towards the ancient methods of healing instead of just dismissing them as stupid and uneducated

A lot don't recognize how much of what people say is the same as other people through a different dictionary of experiences. This is why a lot of Shaman lock onto the word "Intention", and I am on the same page there.

I tend to try to correct things moreso when it is proving to be like a snag in their lives, a difficult knot they can't get undone. I'm otherwise all for trying out new experiences as long as it doesn't become about cults, as sometimes even a "make believe" mindset can set someone onto a better path afterwards, or get them in the habit of good things in spite of not being an entirely world-tethered foundation.

If someone becomes all about Reiki, and as a result they also learn techniques of Physical Therapy for example, then even though Reiki is pretty damn fake it still led to the person in question acquiring a real craft as a supplement, or as adjacent knowledge. The same can be said of Yoga, an art that prior was much more about Faith while now more about the moves themselves.

As such, falling into belief patterns that may read as nonsense or cringe in later life is not wasted time. What really matters is what those beliefs are doing to someone.
