In my mid to late teens I met a man who was able to do this. He was a friend of my friend's Mother. Someone they met working at a flee market on the weekends.
He did something he called colour healing. He healed aliments from my friends parents, fixed his Father's ears, and he repaired some nerve damage his Mother was experiencing for years.
If you get into this, you'll have to subject yourself to some unusual things or things considered unusual to the majority. Things like astral projection practices, exercises for seeing auras. Empathy etc.
The man has a list of achievements including healing cancer. There are videos of people like this, but it's taken out of context, or not taken seriously at all.
This guy is one of the coolest human beings I have ever met. He was so wonderful. He was down to Earth but not really. Can talk to him about anything.
One time my friend embarrassed me by telling the healer that I idolize him. The healer freaked out and was like "Oh no don't do that !" That's because he knows there's a big price to pay if he obtains a cult following or if people start worshiping him. I just said it's not like that, I just think it's cool how you're able to fix people like that.

This is a damn good book, and I still have the thing and it's been like.....27 years now. ( He lent it to me but I kept it, he stole it too cause it has a library card slot in the back page )

This book is where I learned the 2-4 breathing meditation and had that crazy ass experience where some twisted looking creature was coming at me, and I was guarded by what appeared to be the mighty hand of what I can only describe as a robotic looking angel fist. It was a shiny gold and silver gauntlet but futuristic looking it was big, the rest of that being was standing behind me like it kneeled down behind me and whacked that other creature away.
Finally I never had anyone to practice on, so I stopped practicing this.
If you ever achieve this, make sure you're not doing it for fame. I don't think it's right to charge for this either, donations are okay. Finally, if you can do this, there's no sick days for you, no laziness. You'll have work to do and you'll have to respond to cries of help every time. If you're willing to make certain sacrifices then by all means go for it.
