In layman's terms what criteria required to establish brain death

I would argue respiratory rate function is not rooted in iQ it is physiological, controlled by the Vagus nerve which runs from brain through body and in respiratory rate function controls the diaphragm. We also know this because sometimes the vagus nerve is severed in abdominal surgeries. Suggest Chapo Google maybe what criteria is required in layman's terms to establish brain death or "vegetable" status..

I forgot the exact term, but the brain controls the lungs automatically, while we can take over our breathing at will.

The brain also controls all of our vital organs to my understanding.  For all it does, the brain one can easily say the brain has software running in the background running our systems.

Amazing how we got super computers running in our heads, housed in a skull made for it. What a fluke !

He doesn't have to mean something literally to express it, language is simply meant to conjure pictures in our minds that we can derive meaning from.

You can see others lean more on Sensory Language, Onomatopoeia, Word Clangor, Referential Association, etc. While there is a canon to language structure, you will often see people not following it if not otherwise unable to.

Even Slang hits those zones, the goal is moreso to have your words adjacent to the intended meaning. Language is meant to flow naturally.
