Why would I respect someone just based on their age? 🤨

In her case asking her to elaborate on the 'sexism' will likely just fall onto her personal experiences again. 

For the most part she's just being another parrot-monkey, repeating the words that resonated without really looking at the bigger picture.

It's not a full answer, it's just enough of an admission to not go deeper. All it does is bait "Why are you sexist?", which in her case falls into personal experience anecdotes and little else. 

She isn't really answering the question, but also may not be capable of it.

I didn't really say it was wrong to answer the question in any way, I just said it doesn't help explain her rationale.

It's like answering why I don't eat meat at all with 'I am vegan'. Nothing wrong with that, but it does not help explain anything.
