hi my name is blanc and i love winter. this year i'm feeling creatively inspired by cranberry and sugar plum, and the nutcracker. i fall asleep to the sound of blizzards, and fire places with smooth music has always been a go to ambiance of choice.
this year my mother set up a stand for storing ingredients for smore's and hot chocolate that was very danish looking? made of carved wood, very wintery etchings, that is the color of ginger bread.
next to it, i put some pumpkin shaped cups, that were off-white glaze. i got them for 5 dollars each at william sonoma, as they were having a huge black friday sale. and though pumpkins go on sale in december, because they were out with november, i will always love pumpkin shaped things all year round
as i am some sort of winter squirrel at heart, with blushing cheeks from the cold,... not only do i love neutral white tones of the cups. but, pumpkins remind of me of a theme of hygge, sweden, foxes, and forests, with gentle fungi and crystal flowing rivers. autumnal leaves, various nuts, and the crisp cold country side drives by the peaceful and dewey farmlands of germany.
it is on my mind to try knitting a blanket, knitted blankets, and chunky knits, as well as waffle knit textures go wonderfully with a cloud of sleep, after a bubble bath, or a hot tea and soup.
what is something you're feeling inspired by this winter? what are winter traditions for you or things you love about the holiday season or are loving about this particular holiday season. anything you're excited for? how do you feel about winter and holidays?
