Someone cried. I relayed that suffering is the default state of any living being. We can take that as a foundation. Our own existence then is paradoxically propelling us to survive, and by proxy we create beauty through our suffering. Tragedy and comedy are intertwined which is why defaulting to cynical thinking is paired with a darker sense of humour. The issue with this is that if suffering replaces the intrinsic goal, for it supposedly leads to growth, comfort becomes insufferable and the equation no longer fits. Is this an unhealthy way of seeing things?
also then what does happiness mean without suffering and doesn't pain serve as a universal catalyst for change? I really don't see what's wrong with this assertion. Apart from veering into negative bias, which is a fair enough reason to pay attention to your thought process and interpretations but it really doesn't change what I think constitutes reality. Anyways.

It's a dance of tension-release, building up and then letting go.

It's why comedians are pretty fucked up people more often than not.
We see a lot of good come from suffering, and a lot of evil come from comfort.
I'm also wondering what role guilt plays into all this, and whether emotional self flagellation is a substitute for expressing something else, maybe something you judge others for
They are both byproducts that, in excess, lend to the control freak mindset, complete with both obsessive behaviors and the need for control.
...a lot of things seem to root from a need to feel in control, it's weird.
Why are you going down an ontological rabbit hole on the nature of suffering? Does that make you happier?
