He's only funny to laugh at, rather than with, and I think he realized that surprisingly early on. Andy Dick has been a very, very odd figure on Television that people grew to accept is annoying, kind of like somewhere between Roger from American Dad and Carrot Top.
Rather than being just self-aware to market himself however I feel like a lot of what goes on is more like people trying to contain him enough to produce something.
Even Community had him cast as a hallucination for Pierce to represent his appetite for pills, which is apparently somewhat of an IRL reference against him that he just totally rolled with:
The only reason he's worth talking about for the moment though is the Youtube Algorithm, I never really felt the need to follow his stuff over a certain degree of redundancy. It's weird to watch people who I actually do follow bring him up when I otherwise was somewhat passively avoiding links about him, so past a point it almost isn't a choice whether I see what he's up to or not (save for ignoring the platform entirely).
Lol a legit slap fight over some who-cares drama where he doesn't even bother to put his drink down, this dude is Roger from American Dad.

The guy did swing on him there. The title of the video is kind of misleading; the younger kid was triggered about something at the start and was tossing insults so his phone got tossed (not really in a way that would likely break it). Then the kid stays triggered until Andy responds to a donation, which gets him swung on. I genuinely find him funny as a chaotic force, although obviously he is fucked up mentally as he keeps groping people in public and even groping a woman's breasts on TV during a roast, exposing himself to people at a McDonald's and during stand up shows, etc.
