Based on situations that arise where the voice trying to steer people seemingly works against itself, wouldn't that be more likely to come from competing interests rather than a single voice? It's one thing to try to create confusion and infighting ala 1984, but some of this stuff if it were only one group pulling the strings seriously seem like strange, self-sabotaging choices at points.

well the theory is that there are many secret societies  (freemasons,  skull and bones,  the golden dawn,  something something rose and more)  but they do not seem to be competing necessarily and I think there might be one group more "secret" than all of those that has the most powerful people in the world as a part of it ?

No, but even multiple Jewish interests will oppose eachother in spite of otherwise giving back to the same communities. They don't all push one agenda just because they come from the same faith, all that it really amounts to is a cultural consolidation of wealth and some easier partnerships. 

Megacorporations, that is to mean corporations that make all their money off of the backs of smaller corporations and through having stock in competing interests, are indeed a thing and they do have a heavy hand in steering where things go for everyone else. You can follow the money and see that insanely high levels of wealth are in the hands of few people who even meet for shit like The Skull and Bones Society, and will even take out stocks on companies to force them to fail later, but none of it otherwise suggests that it must be Illuminati, but rather much of it instead seems to be more like multiple voices competing for dominance within a small group of players that all have more money than we could count by hand in one lifetime. 

There's multiple arts and sciences out there that are all about steering people, the common man can tap into it now even thanks to how much is understood through social media and we've been seeing Hollywood and the music industry tap into it for decades. I am not denying framing and control through media cues and signs and music and whatever, but just because people can be steered doesn't mean it's just one group doing all of it, especially across the entire globe, and that it'd make more sense for this to be a matter of competing interests that follow a similar enough standard of rules to establish a cultural canon.
