I am using the thai forest tradition method. I focus on my breath and say mentally BUDD when I breath in and with the outbreath I say DHO. Buddho means enlightenment in pali.
Do you meditate? What technique are you using?
I used to Meditate, until I got what I was doing it for. And it was different.
It was a mental count 2 - 4 breathing. That is inhale 4 seconds. Hold 2 seconds, release 4 seconds ( basically release for 6 seconds then repeat)
- Breath as described above.
- Not setting up but leaning or laying down
- Monitor every muscle and make it more relaxed. Tongue, fingers, neck everything.
- The throat will get very very very dry when doing this. If we swallow it'll break everything and we'll have to start over.
- The heart pumps harder, makes breathing sound cosmic/eho like
- the heart, the breathing, these clicking sounds in the ears. All in rhythm both in sound and feel. It's music and you know something is happening.
- finally, we feel and hear electricity in our upper skull. It makes lightsaber sounds and it pumps along with the music and we feel it pulsing backward vrooooommm......vroooooommm in rhythm.

I found myself in an empty space, then I saw what appeated to be a giant cat head. It had eyes all over it's face, a large wobbly mouth with shark teeth all around it. It has a voice like a man bring strangled. It was like 10 stories tall.
It was coming toward me. I just stood there watching it approach me while it was making those sounds. I wasn't afraid. I should've been afraid but I so wasn't.
Eventually when it was closer, a giant gauntlet came down and smashed the creature that was approaching me.
It was a giant fist made of silver and gold. It had a spiked bracelet, it looked combat ready, maybe it was kinda robotic looking It was beautiful. The palm of the fist was kinda facing me which would've indicated the protector was standing behind me.
When it hit the creatore it was gone like it went down like a tennisball getting wacked by a racket, as the fist rrplaced the space the creature was. I was then sent back.

When you breath, don't swallow, it's difficult and painful, but resistance is key. It'll suck when you return too, you'll feel super dry wind pipes. Get water fast, it's pretty sticky, 1 gulp is all you'll need but have a glass anyway.
Do you meditate? What technique are you using?
Technically no, but I do sit in the yard and listen to bird sounds to zone out.
I've found having a source of constant sound that isn't otherwise too obviously repeating itself to be useful in helping the mind let go. Even the sounds of the city have been a way to feel as if I am outside of myself, and even the different pitches of the wind in different places can be distracting in a good way.
